frequently asked questions

  • How much of our Wedding Day do you cover?
We provide a full wedding day coverage from the Bride’s preparations until after the first dance. If you are planning on a late-night firework send off then we would also stay to cover that as well. The only exception to the above is our Registry Office Package which is available Monday through Friday and is tailored to provide you with professional pictures at a competitive cost so hence reduced coverage. Further details are available on the Prices / Weddings pages on our website, link provided below. https://www.markhaysom.co.uk/prices-weddings
  • Packages what's the difference?
We provide four wedding day packages for you to choose from covering a wide range of budgets to match your requirements. Each package (does not include "The Registry Office" option) includes the following products and services. Full wedding day coverage from the bride's preparations until after the first dance. Pre-wedding consultation to discuss the running of your Big Day. Professional edited hi-res images on a USB thumb drive. An online private gallery for you and your family & friends to enjoy. The coverage is the same for all four Packages, the difference is the Album size and quality, we can show you these at the initial meeting for you to decide. Please note the "Essential" package has a boxed crystal USB only, no album is included. More information can be found here on our website. https://www.markhaysom.co.uk/prices-weddings
  • Black & White pictures do you do those?
The Wedding Day is always shot in Colour and then we select various pictures we think have more impact to convert to Black & White for your gallery. Should you require a greater proportion of your images in Black & White please let us know in advance. For those who wish to have the entire Wedding Day in Black & White we are happy to provide this for you, again just let us know in advance. Should you have a picture in your Wedding Day gallery that’s Colour but would like to see it in Black & White we can do this for you, just provide the picture number in an email or use our contact page. This also applies should you want to go from Black & White to Colour.
  • Wedding Day Gallery Access
To gain access to your Wedding Day Gallery please select " Client Access" from the menu bar at the top of the screen. This will open a new tab in your browser and you will be prompted for your "Enter Your Gallery Password". Once entered the password will be validated and access granted accordingly. If you did an Engagement Shoot the gallery password can be found on the back of the Wedding Day cards handed out at the start of the Wedding Breakfast. If you opted not to do an Engagement Shoot you (Bride & Groom) will have to let your family & friends know the password you arranged in advance with us. Please note Mark Haysom Photography can’t provide passwords that have been allocated to various weddings, if you have forgotten a password please contact the Bride & Groom directly.
  • Can we proof our Wedding Day Gallery?
Yes, of course, we do not publish your gallery for your family & friends to enjoy until you have proofed them. You can ask for pictures to be removed or simply give the go-ahead for the gallery to go live for those that have the appropriate password.
  • How long before we can see our pictures?
We aim to provide your gallery ready for you to proof in 7 to 14 days, please note we can’t make your gallery go live until you have given us the go-ahead. This is important for your guests to be aware of if we have completed your pictures but you are on your honeymoon for example we can’t make the gallery live until you have approved it. If you are a guest eager to see some of the pictures you can email us with the Bride & Grooms name and Wedding Date, then we will notify you once the gallery has gone live.
  • Areas covered by Mark Haysom Photography?
We primarily cover Bedfordshire as we are based in Bedford, but also the surrounding Counties to include, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, and Northamptonshire. We will also cover weddings over the UK, for example we have provided Wedding Day coverage on the Isle of Man, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, to name but a few. Where possible there is no uplift in the Wedding Day Package cost so we remain competitive regardless of the location.
  • Albums can we choose later?
You can select a Package that already has an album included or if you prefer select the Album at a later date. The advantage of this approach is that you have secured your photographer (that’s me) and can then take all the time you wish to select the Album that works for you both. All our Albums are lovingly handcrafted in the UK and are of an exceptionally high standard. Further information and examples can be found on our website here. https://www.markhaysom.co.uk/prices-weddings
  • Can we order additional albums?
Yes, you can, for example, Albums for both the Bride’s and Groom’s parents. We have not included the pricing for this on the website pricing page as it makes it a little daunting to take in as there are numerous options to choose from. We can discuss this with you when we have the initial meeting and quote accordingly and you can also order additional Albums after the Big Day, this happens a lot, for example, a Christmas present for the parents or an Antie that was unable to attend the wedding.
  • Can we order additional album pages?
Yes you can, both the Luxury and Ultimate wedding albums come with 20 spreads (40 pages) as standard and included in the package prices. Additional pages/spreads can be added to the Luxury and Ultimate wedding albums at an additional cost either when booking your wedding day photography or later once you have picked the photographs you want in your album from the online gallery. Luxury Album addition spread(2 pages) £15.00 Ultimate Album addition spread(2 pages) £25.00
  • Can our family & friends order pictures from the Wedding Day?
Your family & friends can select prints from the wedding day gallery to be printed in various sizes and delivered to their address or select a digital download that provides instant access to the picture. We can provide pictures in frames or canvas prints but do not list these in the price list as there are far too many options. To arrange simply contact us and we can take it from there. The financial transactions are all handled securely by Zenfolio who hosts the private wedding day galleries on our behalf.
  • Do you provide Digital downloads?
Once you have entered the details for the private wedding day gallery you will be able to select and order digital downloads of any of the pictures displayed. After payment in your cart has been completed you will be emailed a confirmation and can proceed to download the selected pictures. This is the most popular option as it allows you to print out your own pictures to the size you require or use as a desktop image for example.
  • Should we do an Engagment Shoot?
It’s certainly not compulsory however we would encourage you to do an engagement shoot and they really are becoming more and more popular. Here are some of the reasons why you should. Getting to know each other helps prepare for the Wedding Day. A little practice goes a long way, by the end of the shoot your not going to be camera shy. We use the high-resolution images for the cards handed out to the guests and if selected the Signing Book. Why not combine the engagement shoot with your hair and make-up trial to see how you will look on the Big Day. And lastly, it's fun and a good laugh!
  • What should we wear?
Whatever you both are comfortable in, most wear casual clothing and a few will dress for the occasion, it’s really up to you both. It can also be useful to try out how your Wedding Day Hair and makeup will look, so combine this with the Engagement Shoot.
  • Wedding Day Cards
For those that opt for an Engagement Shoot, we then produce your Wedding Day Cards. These are fifty cards (you can order more) made up from the Engagement Shoot with your wedding details and Gallery Password printed on the reverse side. These are distributed around the Wedding Breakfast tables for your family and guest to look at and keep, as it provides the password they will need once your Gallery is ready for viewing. It also means you don’t have to inform everyone of the password time and time again. You can choose up to fifty different pictures for the cards but the average is three or four different versions.
  • Signing Book
Our most popular addition to your Wedding Day Package, the signing book will be a most treasured momentum of your Big Day. Your personalised wedding guest book using pictures you select from the Engagement Shoot are the perfect option to add to your existing photography packages, a stunning guest book for guests to sign on the big day. One of the most valuable keepsakes from a wedding day is, without a doubt, the wedding guest book. With all that’s going on, it can sometimes be difficult for the bride and groom to spend enough time with all of their wedding guests, so having a wedding guest book can give friends and family a chance to congratulate, wish you well and share treasured memories on your special day. This book can then be filled with up to 30 pages and your choice of plain or lined pages.
  • Equipment
As wedding photographers, we duplicate our camera equipment, after all you would not be impressed if halfway through your Big Day we wandered up to you and said “sorry the camera has stop working, but enjoy the rest of your day” and then went home! For us, that’s three professional primary camera bodies, a mixture of professional lenses and numerous flashguns, coupled with a large bag of batteries and memory cards. In addition to this, we have another few camera bodies to fall back on if so required! All that said we have never had a problem with our kit in the field, but you can’t be too careful it’s your Big Day and we aim to capture it all, equipment failure or not.

We have Photogrphy Insurance covering various aspects such as. Professional Indemnity Crisis Containment General Liability - (Public & Peroducts Liability) Photographic and Technical Equipment Employers Liability Your wedding day venue might require proof of insurance from your suppliers, we are happy to provide our certificate on request.
